Harold P Boehm
Harold Peter Boehm, 84, of Port Huron, died Tuesday, September 17, 2013.
He was born May 17, 1929 in Danzig, Germany to Willie and Ursula Bohm. He married Virginia “Jenny” Bowen on August 8, 1953 in Detroit. She died January 7, 2000.
Harold retired from Detroit Edison after 34 years of service as management in several power plants. He was a superb athlete as a young man, including soccer and swimming. He was a boxing champion on the German national team and a professional in Detroit for a short time. He won 143 fights, never losing a match. Harold served as a cadet in the German Navy. He was a member of the Church of Christ in Port Huron. He owned a 50 acre farm on Smith Creek and Wadhams for 20 years after moving from Detroit, and proudly raised German Shepherd dogs.
He is survived by three daughters, Terri Boehm and Tricia (Dennis) Krohn, all of Port Huron and Trudy Boehm of Cary, North Carolina; two sons, Kurt Boehm of Port Huron and Karl (Tricia) Boehm of Longwood, Florida; five grandchildren, Christopher Boehm, Rachel (Seth Allison) Krohn, Hannah Krohn, Jeremy Boehm and Joshua Boehm; a brother, Eckhard Boehm of Oceanside, California; and several nieces and nephews, including Pamela Peters of Austin, Texas and Tilman (Ise) Grauer of Tubingen, Germany. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Karin (Floyd) Peters in 2008 and Margitta Grauer in 1957.
Visitation will be 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Sunday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Monday, September 23, 2013 in the Church of Christ, 756 17th Street, Port Huron. Mr. Dan Bateman will officiate.
Burial will be in Burtchville Township Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Dennis Krohn, Karl Boehm, Christopher Boehm, Jeremy Boehm, Seth Allison and Kurt Boehm.
