Wilfred O Klinkman

Wilfred Orton Klinkman, 97, of Kimball Township, died Thursday, May 18, 2017.

He was born to the late Orton and Catherine Klinkman on October 15, 1919 in Decker, Michigan but it took the doctor nine days to travel to the house and officially register the birth on October 24, 1919. He married Arleen Ruth Ward on October 26, 1945 in Marlette, Michigan. She died November 3, 2005.

Wilfred served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was stationed in Hawaii and the Philippines. He was employed for over 30 years with London’s Farm Dairy as a home delivery milkman. He enjoyed working in the garden, going to the casino and visiting the neighbors in his golf cart. He also was an avid Detroit Tigers Fan.

He is survived by his sons, Dennis (Gayle) Klinkman, Glenn (Cathy) Klinkman; daughter, Karen (William) Ludwick; foster daughter, Dottie (Jim) Rock; 6 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; a sister, Laura Dale; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters, Margaret and Louise; and brother, Charles.

Funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm Sunday, May 21, 2017 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 2:00 pm. The Reverend Max Amstutz will officiate. Military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Army. Burial will be in Caswell Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. Monday, May 22, 2017.

Memorials may be made to the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
