Michael Dean Heisler, 52, of St. Clair Township, died Friday, November 15, 2013 as the result of a hunting accident.
He was born September 21, 1961 in Port Huron to Thelma and the late Francis “Bud” Heisler.
Mike was Manager of the System Operations Center (SOC) for Detroit Edison. He was a sporting enthusiast who started skating at the age of nine and enjoyed playing, coaching, and watching hockey, playing men’s softball with his dad, hunting, and boating. He was a devoted father who took great pride in his family, as well as the fact that he built his home.
He is survived by his loving partner, Kelly Bennett; two children, Baileigh and Cole Heisler; a granddaughter, Isabel; his mother, Thelma Heisler; a brother, Steven (Alicia) Heisler; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and many many good friends.
Visitation will be 7-9 p.m. Monday and 2-4 and 7-9 pm Tuesday in the Marysville Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 pm Wednesday, November 20, 2013 in the Marysville Funeral Home. Reverend Max Amstutz will officiate.
Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery, St. Clair. Pallbearers will be Cole Heisler, Tom McManus, Randy Filkins, Bennett Stein, Gary Tremberth, Jeff Sharrow, Paul Whitman, and Steve Nicol.
Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
