Scott A Wassom

July 31st, 1969 to November 17th, 2013

Scott Alan Wassom, 44, of Marysville, went home to be with the Lord unexpectedly on Sunday, November 17, 2013.

He was born July 31, 1969 in Port Huron to Judy and the late Jere Wassom. He married Maleia Meinhardt on July 21, 1995 in Gatlinburg, TN.

Scott was a full-time corporate accountant at Heartland Steel Products (formerly Eugene Welding). He was the president of the Port Huron Bowling Association and ran their website, wrote the 11th Frame column for the Times Herald, and co-hosted Strikes and Spares on WHLS 1450-AM. Scott was a top-notch bowler that had 17 perfect 300 games and four 800 series in his career. He was also very active at his church, Marysville Assembly of God, and was a huge sports fan who especially liked the Detroit Tigers. More than anything, Scott was a family man who loved nothing more than his wife and boys.

He is survived by his wife of 18 years Maleia; two sons, Matthew and Eli Wassom; mother, Judy Wassom; brother, Steven (Stephanie) Wassom; two nieces, Raelynn Wassom (fiancé Aaron Davis) and Rebecca Wassom; Maleia’s parents, Candy (Roger) Rivard and Joseph (Laura) Meinhardt; and many other dear family and friends.

Visitation will be 3-5 & 6-9 p.m. Wednesday in The Marysville Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Marysville Assembly of God. The Reverend James Turner will officiate.

Cremation will take place after the service and burial will follow in Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville.

Memorial contributions may be made to Scott’s children’s education fund in care of Maleia.
