Obituary

Robert C. “Bob” Jonseck, 92, of Port Huron Township, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 18, 2013 in the home of his daughter, Linda, and son-in-law, Gerald. He will be reunited with his loving wife, Eva, and other loved ones in Christ who have gone on before.

He was born June 19, 1921 in New Era, Michigan to the late William and Marie Jonseck. They moved to Port Huron in 1931 and he has been a resident since that time. He married Eva VanBuskirk on October 30, 1941. They were happily married for over 50 years. She went home to be with the Lord on June 2, 1992.

Bob served in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II, where he fought in the battle of Okinawa. He received the Purple Heart for wounds that he sustained there. He was employed at Prestolite Wire where he became Personal Manager and Plant Industrial Manager, where he retired in June 1983.

He was a member of The Salvation Army and Salvation Army Golden Agers. His most precious love was his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and his family. He was a great man of faith, integrity, and generosity who touched the hearts of everyone he met.

Those left to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Janet Hisscock of Franklin, Tennessee and Linda (Gerald) Thayer of Port Huron Township; six grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; two brothers, Karl Jonseck of Ruskin, Florida and Richard (Ruth) Jonseck of Grand Ledge; a sister, Shirley Crumbach of Marysville, California; two sisters-in-law, Elizabeth Clark and Grace Cederval, both of Port Huron; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Sunday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

There will be a private family memorial service to celebrate his life at Sunset Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made to Blue Water Hospice, who were such a blessing to Bob and his family, or to The Salvation Army.
