Albert M Jones

Albert Melvin Jones, 91, of Marysville passed away Tuesday, November 26, 2013.

He was born October 23, 1922 in Canada to the late Albert and Elizabeth Jones. He married Ivy Jean Firth April 28, 1942 in London, Ontario. She died April 7, 2007.

Mr. Jones served in the Royal Canadian Navy during World War II and retired from Ford Motor Company. He was an avid sailor and was both a past Commander and past Chaplin of the Port Huron Yacht Club. He was a member of the Marysville Lions, past President of the Council on Aging and was a volunteer at Safe Horizons. He was also a long time member of All Saints Episcopal Church. He enjoyed golfing, model building and also swam in the Senior Olympics.

Mr. Jones is survived by his sons, Gregory (Sandra) Jones, Scott (Lisa) Jones and Dennis (Cindy) Jones; daughter-in-law, Trudy Jones; son-in-law, Harold Perry; grandchildren, Dana, Kristen, Matthew, Alison, Brandon, Kyle, Meredith, Ashley, John, James, David, Dee, Ellen and Beth; many great grandchildren; two sisters and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Albert E. Jones and daughter, Dorothy Elizabeth Perry.

Visiting hours will be from 2-4 and 6-8 pm Sunday in the Marysville Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 am Monday, December 2, 2013 in Grace Episcopal Church. The Rev. Tracie Little will officiate.

Memorials for Mr. Jones may be made to the Port Huron Yacht Club.
