David L Somervell

David Lawrence Somervell, 57, of Algonac, died November 29, 2013 in his home.

He was born August 11, 1956 in Dearborn to the late Leo and June Somervell. His wife, Kathleen M. Perhogan Somervell, preceded him in death on August 5, 2013.

David owned Dave’s Shoe Repair in Algonac from 1982-1999. He was a member of the Algonac Lions Club and an avid doo-wop enthusiast.

He is survived by his son, David L. Somervell II of Algonac; two sisters, Lee Smela of Kentucky and Nancy (Richard) LeTourneau of Nevada; a brother, James W. (Pamela) Somervell of Kentucky; several nieces and nephews; and many dear friends.

A Memorial Mass will be held at noon on Monday, December 9, 2013 in Our Lady on the River Parish, St. Catherine’s Church, 1103 Washington, Algonac. Father Robert Slayton will officiate.

The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until time of service in the church.
