Maryanne Slaten
Maryanne, 53, of Port Huron Township died Thursday, December 12, 2013 in St. John’s Hospital, Detroit after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born November 8, 1960 in Detroit. She proudly served as an officer with U.S. Customs and Border Protection since 2005. She was a loving, proud mother and grandmother, and an avid enthusiast of horses.
Maryanne is survived by her two much loved daughters, Amanda Marie Slaten Frasier (Dr. Chad R. Frasier) of Pinckney, MI and Aimee Lynn Davis (Senior Airman Timothy Brandon Davis) of Anchorage, AK; her grandson, Bryce Timothy Davis (who knew and loved her as his “Munchie”); her mother, Nancy Petty and her brother, Mark England as well as her brothers and sisters of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Service. She left to join her father, William Davis Petty; grandmother, Dorothy Vandekerchove; and grandfather, Joseph Gricus.
She died as she had lived- strong and on her own terms.
Visitation will be 2-4 & 7-9 PM Wednesday in Marysville Funeral Home, 1200 Michigan Ave.
Funeral services will be 11 am Thursday, December 19, 2013 in the funeral home. Chaplain Michael Owens of U.S. Customs will officiate. Pallbearers will be Senior Airman Timothy Davis, Specialist Jami Mehler, Dr. Chad R. Frasier, Mark England, Jeffrey Bugajski and Officer Robert H. Dunn.
Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Port Huron Township. Graveside honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Customs and Border Protection Honor Guard.
Memorial contributions may be made in her name to the American Red Cross.
