Robert Arthur Bright, 81, of Port Huron, died peacefully Tuesday, January 7, 2014 surrounded by his loving family after a brief illness.
He was born December 22, 1932 in Chicago to the late Arthur and Elizabeth (Jones) Bright. He married Shirley Bright on October 23, 1954 in Port Huron.
Mr. Bright was a Union Carpenter and self-employed Homebuilder, having built several area homes. He retired from London’s Farm Dairy in 1997. He was an avid sportsman who loved to hunt and fish. He also loved to play cards. He was a loving husband and father. His children and grandchildren were the pride of his life. He is survived by two daughters, Cheryl (Gary) London and Terri (Stephen) Gordon; five grandchildren, Robert (Janey) London, Kimberly London, Kristal London, Stephen (Nicole) Gordon and Matthew Gordon and fiancé Christine Fredendall; three great grandchildren, Isabella Fletcher, Braden London and Stephen Gordon; sister-in-laws, Jean (Lee) Brown, Doris (Ralph) Moeller and Carol Klossner; a brother-in-law, George (Gail) Innis; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife Shirley, who died March 12, 2013. They celebrated 58 years together. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Harriett Tarzwell, Joyce Martin, and Norma Britt; two brothers, William and John Bright.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
