Fredric P Nofs

Fredric Paul Nofs, 93, of Marysville, died Wednesday, January 15, 2014.

He was born August 1, 1920 in Port Huron to the late Paul and Gertrude Nofs. He married Florence Oakes on October 17, 1944 in Port Huron. She died January 13, 2013.

Mr. Nofs was a draftsman with General Motors for 30 years prior to his retirement. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He will be fondly remembered as a man who enjoyed spending time with his family, working around his home and yard and evening rides by the water with his wife.

He is survived by two children, Susan (David) Monette of Warren and Ronald (Kathy) Nofs of Novi; five grandchildren, Scott (Sarah) Monette, Kurt Monette, Marissa (Travis) White, Sarah Nofs and Brandon Oakes Nofs; two great grandsons, Seth and Ethan Monette; two brothers, Joseph (Dolly) Nofs and Gordon (Loretta) Nofs; a sister, Justine Senyk and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters, Jim, Larry, Dorothy and Cecelia.

A memorial service will be held at 4 p.m. on Saturday, January 25, 2014 in the Marysville Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 1:00 p.m. His grandson, Pastor Scott Monette, will officiate. Military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Navy and St. Clair County Allied Veterans Council.

Inurnment will be in the Riverlawn Cemetery Columbarium.
