Guy A Townsend

Guy A. Townsend, 90, of Fort Gratiot, died January 16, 2014 in Marwood Manor.

He was born May 2, 1923 in Bad Axe. He married Helen Jean MacLean on September 3, 1949 in Detroit.

Mr. Townsend served with General Patton’s Third Army during World War II. He was a retired mechanical engineer with Unisys. He loved woodworking, square dancing, playing bridge and golf. He also spent many years singing in a Barber Shop chorus.

He is survived by his wife, H. Jean Townsend; two children, Dr. Leslie Louise Townsend and Scott E. (Margaret) Townsend; a granddaughter, Jahan Khazaeli; a grandson, Kian Khazaeli; and a great granddaughter, Rowan Khazaeli. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Tavon.

A committal service will be held in May at the Allied Veterans Columbarium, Port Huron.
