Betty Willey
Betty Lou Willey, 87, of Okemos, formerly of Port Huron, died Sunday, February 9, 2014.
She was born April 20, 1926 in Grayling to the late Carl and Louise Fahselt. She married Albert E. Willey on August 3, 1946 in Port Huron. He died December 27, 1993.
Mrs. Willey worked as a Certified Medical Assistant for Dr. William T. Davidson and Dr. Ali. She was a past President of the American Association of Medical Assistants and was very involved in the education and certification process for medical assistants. Betty Lou was a longtime member of First United Methodist Church where she sang in the choir for over 50 years. She was also a member of B.P.O.E. Lodge #343, and a charter member of Willow Ridge Golf Course.
She is survived by her daughter, Katherine Hanselman of Dewitt; two grandchildren, Jason (Shelli) Hanselman of Dewitt and Sarah (Tony) Fuller of Grand Ledge; four great grandchildren, Avery and Luke Hanselman and Jacob and Lauren Fuller; a sister-in-law, Elaine Fahselt of Rochester, New York; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Bob Fahselt.
Betty Lou will be long remembered for her bright smile, beautiful laughter, and wonderful sense of humor.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, February 13, 2014 in First United Methodist Church with visitation beginning at 12:00 p.m. The Reverend William Wright will officiate.
Burial has taken place in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Fort Gratiot.
Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church Music Fund or the Ingham County Medical Care Facility Foundation. Arrangements are by Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
