Erich J Harris
Erich Joseph “Mellon” Harris, 55, of Port Huron, died unexpectedly, Monday, February 17, 2014 of a heart attack.
He was born on St. Patrick’s Day March 17, 1958 in Port Huron to Judith and the late James Harris Jr.
Mr. Harris graduated from Port Huron Northern in 1976 and Northwood University. He loved classic cars, operated a car lot for several years, owned Grand River Antiques, and was a self-employed contractor and landlord.
He is survived by his mother, Judith A. Harris; two brothers, Michael Harris and Frederich Harris; three sisters, Deborah (Keith) Thornton, Anita Szostek and Maryleigh (David) Wilson; his partner of 18 years, Susan Bennett; eight nieces and nephews, Erika (Dante) Ciavattoni, Aaron Thornton, Cole (Anne) Thornton, Ryan (Lindsay) Szostek, Alex Szostek, Garrett Wilson, Findlay Wilson and Harris Wilson; great niece, Lauryn Thornton; great nephew, Mason Szostek; special aunt and uncle, Dorothy and Thomas Harris; and his dogs, Dylan and Maggie. He was preceded in death by his father, James A. Harris Jr. on Nov. 20, 2001.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday and 10-11 a.m. Saturday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, February 22, 2014 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. Deacon Tim Maxwell will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Blue Water Area Humane Society or the Port Huron Museum.
