Eleanor M Smith

Eleanor Margaret Smith, 78, of Port Huron, died on her 60th wedding anniversary, Thursday, February 27, 2014.

She was born December 27, 1935 in Port Huron to the late Henry M. and Mary E. Ketels. She married Richard Lee Smith on February 27, 1954 in Port Huron. He died June 26, 2012.

Eleanor worked as a waitress at the Dorsey House for 29 years. She enjoyed quilting, baking, gardening, fishing, playing cards, going out to eat, and heading north to deer camp.

She is survived by four children, Debbra (Kevin) Harrison, Laura (James) Hartzell, Karen (Brian) Bennert, and Craig (Jeanette Hopkins) Smith; a son-in-law, Steven Mitchell; eleven grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; a brother, Henry (Linda) Ketels; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was preceded in death by two daughters, Kimberly Mitchell and Roxanne Smith; five sisters; and one brother.

Visitation will be from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Saturday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 2, 2014 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The Reverend Max Amstutz will officiate.

Burial will be in Kinney Cemetery, Clyde Township.
