Gerald F Collingwood
Gerald Frederick “Chief” Collingwood, 90, of Port Huron, died Tuesday, March 18, 2014.
He was born July 7, 1923, in Port Huron to the late John and Lucille Collingwood. He married Mary Marigold on June 3, 1949 in Port Huron. She died September 29, 1990.
Mr. Collingwood was employed with Detroit Edison for over 40 years. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a lifelong devoted member of St. Stephen Catholic Church. Gerald enjoyed sports, bowling, spending time with friends having coffee at McDonald’s and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan.
He is survived by his devoted, loving daughter, Patricia Collingwood; several grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, siblings, nieces, nephews, cousins and many loving friends who were like family to him.
Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Sunday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Mr. Collingwood will lie in state from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. on Monday, March 24, 2014 in St. Stephen Catholic Church. The Rev. Brian Cokonougher will officiate.
Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Port Huron Township. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Army and St. Clair County Allied Veterans Council.
