L Jean Munro

Laura Jean Munro, 98, of Port Huron, died Friday, March 21, 2014 in Medilodge of Yale.

She was born December 23, 1915 in Port Huron to the late William and Mary Ella Campbell. She married Roy Munro on November 26, 1936 in Port Huron. He died March 25, 1988.

Mrs. Munro was employed at Sperry’s Department Store. She enjoyed following hockey, embroidery, watching the ships, and traveling to Arizona in the winter.

She is survived by two sons, Gary (Barbara) Munro and Gerald (Susan) Munro; six grandchildren, John Munro, Lee Anne Sawvel, Julie (Dan) Maxfield, Scot Munro, Cory Munro and Jennifer Munro; nine great grandchildren, Garrett & Brett Sawvel, Stephanie, Brooke & Morgan Maxfield, Madisson, Gracie & Emma Mason and Raine Munro; two brothers-in-law, Jim (Carolyn) Munro and Fred (Betty) Kelly; and two nephews, William Thomas and Lloyd Thomas. She was preceded in death by a brother, William Campbell; and a sister, Beatrice Thomas.

Visitation will be 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Monday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, March 25, 2014 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The Rev. Joseph DeHass will officiate.

Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John, Scot and Cory Munro and Dan Maxfield.

Memorial contributions may be made to Blue Water Hospice.
