Luella Marie Powers, 90, of Sherman, Texas, formerly of Port Huron, died Thursday, May 1, 2014.
She was born July 29, 1923, in Port Huron to the late Herman and Mary Schultz. She married Dale E. Powers on June 8, 1946, in Port Huron.
Mrs. Powers was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Port Huron and attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Sherman, Texas. She and Dale retired to Mission, Texas 25 years ago and recently moved to Sherman, Texas. She enjoyed traditional Mexican music, dancing and traveling.
Luella is survived by her husband of 67 years, Dale; a son, Kenneth (Marsha) Powers of Sherman, Texas; a daughter, Judith (Robert) McBride of Port Huron; four grandchildren, Scott Powers, Kenlyn (Kirby) Junge, Darin (Mary Kay) Langolf, and Tina (Nathaniel) Cook; and four great grandchildren, Ryan and Faith Langolf, and Zachary and Makenzy Cook.
Visitation will be 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Tuesday, in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 7, 2014, at Trinity Lutheran Church. The Rev. Mark Madson will officiate.
Burial will take place in Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron. Pallbearers will be Nathaniel Cook, Zachary Cook, Darin Langolf, Donald Plaut and George Stommel.
Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Port Huron or Trinity Lutheran Church, Sherman.
