Lillie May McVety, 101, of Port Huron, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 10, 2014.
She was born December 8, 1912 in Glencoe, Michigan to the late Robert W. and Laura E. McVety.
Miss McVety was a longtime member of Griswold Street Baptist Church. She worked as a bookkeeper for McVety Food Sales and St. Clair County before her retirement. She was also very active in the senior citizen community.
She is survived by four nephews, Ron, Bill, and Mark Simpson and Tom Dykman; and a niece, Judith Murray. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Mary E. Miller, Margaret L. McVety, Elva G. Simpson, and Phyllis I. Dykman; four brothers-in-law, Clifford J. Simpson, Russell L. Swanson, Eugene H. Dykman, and Alfred Miller; and a nephew, Arthur Lee Simpson.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, May 16, 2014 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The Reverend Daniel Stewart will officiate.
Burial will follow in Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron.
