Glenn E Dove
Glenn E. Dove, age 85, of Port Huron, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 19, 2014 after a short illness. He passed away peacefully in is home with his family present.
Glenn was born November 28, 1928 in Gardendale, MI to the late John and Louisa Dove. He married Josephine Hoggarth June 14, 1952 in Port Huron.
Glenn was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He thoroughly enjoyed collecting and restoring antique cars which he took to many car shows where he won numerous trophies and ribbons. He also enjoyed playing euchre with his family and friends. Glenn retired form Ferguson Steel where he was a crane operator and truck driver. He belonged to the FOE Eagles and Moose Lodge. His dog Freedom was a very special companion to him and was always by his side.
Glenn is survived by his sons, Harvey Dove of Goodells, John (Cindy) Dondineau of Kimball, Thomas Dove of Port Huron and Kirby Dove of Hilton Head Island, SC; daughters, Gwen (Donald) Rutkofske of North Street, and Karen (Robert) Lake of Port Huron; brother, Ralph (Bertie) Dove of Brookville OH; sister, Elaine (James) Baisden of Alexandria VA; sister-in-law, Velma Dove Port Huron; plus numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces and a dear friend, Doris Herr.
He was preceded in death by his lovely wife Josephine (Judy); son, Harold Dove; and daughters, Gerry (Dondineau) McGinnis and Kathy Jo (Dove) Silverthorn; brother, Laurence Dove; and sisters, Yvonne Matix and Ardeen Dove.
Visiting will be held 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday in the Pollock-Randall Funeral Home, 912 Lapeer Ave, Port Huron and Friday 10 a.m. until the time of service in the funeral home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday in the Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. Pastor Max Amstutz will officiate. Burial will be in Kinney Cemetery.
