Brandyn P Petty
February 3rd, 1994 to June 7th, 2014
Brandyn Phillip Petty, 20, of Port Huron, passed away from complications of Type I diabetes on Saturday, June 7, 2014.
He was born February 3, 1994 in Port Huron to Kelly Moak and Phillip Wayne Petty.
Brandyn was an extraordinary young man with many interests and skills. He was an accomplished guitar player who loved music. He had a brilliant mind and was an avid reader, especially philosophy. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, skateboarding and especially hanging out with his friends. He was a Rubik’s Cube expert who could solve it in seconds-blindfolded!
Brandyn wasn’t long in this world, but he made an impact on everyone he met and they were better for having known him. His strength and courage during his many illnesses were such an inspiration. He would tell his mom “Every day is a gift” and we all need to remember that. He was the “go-to” guy to all of his friends, whether it was for a ride, meal or his wise advice.
We couldn’t talk about Brandyn without mentioning his beautiful eyes, wonderful smile and sense of humor - they will never be forgotten. We loved Brandyn beyond measure in this life and that love will continue throughout eternity.
Brandyn is survived by his mother, Kelly Moak; her fiancé, Jason Jones and his two daughters, Ariana and Rowan; his father, Phillip Wayne Petty; grandparents, Gordie and Terry Moak; aunt, Erin Bitzinger; uncle, Jeff Bitzinger; cousins, Anna, Zak, Emily and Sophie Bitzinger; siblings, Madison, Jalen, Levi, Stephanie and Cordell; many great aunts and great uncles and extended family; as well as a host of loving and supportive friends who were like family to him also.
Cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held at Port Huron Township Memorial Park on Beach Road on Sunday, June 22, 2014 from 2-6 pm. Memorials may be made to the family or the Juvenile Diabetes Association.
May your soul be at peace dear Brandyn and may your spirit soar - happy, healthy and free from pain. Our hearts are broken, but we know we’ll meet again. Until then, always remember that we love you “Beeba”.
