Louie N Mayfield

April 1st, 1937 to June 18th, 2014

Louie N. Mayfield, 77, of Marysville, formerly of Memphis, passed from this life on Wednesday, June 18, 2014.

He was born April 1, 1937 in Oskaloosa, Missouri to the late Everett and Fanny Mayfield. He married Bonnie Auch on April 4, 1959 in Las Cruces, New Mexico.

A U.S. Air Force veteran, Lou served in the Early Warning Radar System of the 50s and 60s. A true 50s guy, he was into cars, dirt track and drag racing and finally, NASCAR. He was a carpenter by trade early in life and was eventually employed by Weingartz of Utica, where he retired as a parts man after 27 years. While living in Memphis, he was a member of the volunteer fire department, Lions Club and Congregational Christian Church.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 55 years, Bonnie; his daughter, Joanne and Mike Stanko of North Port, FL, their children and grandchildren; his son, Steven and Kimberly Mayfield of Romeo, MI and their sons; and a nephew, Alan Mayfield of Pueblo, Colorado. He was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Joan; brother, Raymond; nephew, Joseph; in-laws, Chester and Eldora Auch; and brother-in-law, Don Auch.

A celebration of Lou’s life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are by Marysville Funeral Home.

The family would like to thank the staffs of Beacon Home Health Care, Regency on the Lake and Premier Hospice for their care and devotion to Lou’s comfort and wellbeing.
