Edmund Wallace Rose, 81, of Memphis, died Friday, July 25, 2014.

He was born January 28, 1933 in Southfield to the late Ray and Agnes Rose. He married Kathleen C. Jones on June 18, 1960 in Calvary Baptist Church in Armada.

Edmund retired after over 20 years with General Motors Company. He also worked for Belle River Golf Course and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. Edmund and his wife were members of Community Baptist Church and former members of Calvary Baptist Church and Richmond Baptist Church. Edmund served the churches over the years as Deacon, usher, greeter, and Sunday school teacher. He was a lifelong farmer that loved tractor pulls, and also enjoyed camping and traveling.

Edmund is survived by his wife of 54 years, Kathleen; four sons, Timothy Rose of New Zealand, Robert (Cheryl) Rose of Phoenix, Arizona, Dan (Tammy) Rose of St. Clair, and Keven (Mandy) Rose of Clinton Township; five grandchildren, Ethan, Edison, Nolan, Silas, and Titus Rose as well as another boy, Lincoln, on the way; a sister, Naomi (George) Mills of Memphis; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was preceded in death by 8 brothers, Ralph, Wendel, Alvin, Leslie, Albert, Carol, Neil, and Lawrence Rose.

Visitation will be from 2-4 & 6-9 p.m. Wednesday in the Marysville Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 31, 2014 at Community Baptist Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Joseph DeHass will officiate. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the United States Navy and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.

Burial will take place in Christian Memorial Cultural Center, Rochester.

Memorials may be made to Community Baptist Church.
