Clara J Wright
Clara Jean Wright, 69, of Wales Township, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 8, 2014 in Ann Arbor.
She was born May 9, 1945 in West Virginia to the late Daniel and Susie Baldwin. She married James Wright on March 19, 1966.
She was baptized as a teenager at Allen Temple Methodist Episcopal Church in Detroit. Since moving to Port Huron she has been a member of Pilgrim Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school.
She enjoyed bowling, watching movies and plays, fishing, sewing, writing, listening to music and mowing the grass.
She is survived by her husband, James; two daughters, Andrenia Wright-Stearns and Alethea Simmons; three grandchildren, Adrian Beard-Wright, Chase Stearns and Victoria Simmons; four brothers, Clarence Baldwin, Clinton (Arlene) Baldwin, Arthur Baldwin and William Baldwin; a sister, Delores Welch; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other relatives. She was preceded in death by her brother, Daniel Baldwin.
Visiting will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, August 13, 2014 in the Pollock-Randall Funeral Home and from 11 a.m. Thursday, August 14, 2014 until the time of service at the church.
Funeral services will be held at 12 p.m. on Thursday, August 14, 2014 at All Nation Redemption Center, 2030 Church Street, Port Huron. Pastor Alex Crittenden of Pilgrim Baptist Church will officiate.
Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
