David Parker
David “Bob” Parker, 72, of Port Huron, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, August 17, 2014.
He was born September 6, 1941 in York, Alabama to the late Lindsey and Pearlie Parker.
Mr. Parker was a long time employee of Detroit Edison Company. He was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and playing cards.
He leaves to mourn his passing his daughter, Wanda Parker; six grandchildren; Marlon Diggs, Bradley Buchanan, Janelle and Jamar Diggs, Bryant Johnson and Sundrena Binion; two sisters, Virginia Huff and Sallie Bankston; many great grandchildren; his longtime companion, Luetta; her children, Pat Rogers, Sam Walker III, Coleman, Leon, Don, Joyce, Kim, Eric and Jamaine Walker; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his son, Samuel Parker; Luetta’s son, Stanley Walker; and seven brothers and sisters, Hattie Kirkendoll, Ora Parker, T.J. Parker, Eddie Rosemond, J.L. Parker, Lindsey Parker, and Lieutenant Parker.
Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Thursday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 12:00 noon Friday, August 22, 2014 in Mt. Olive Baptist Church with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service. The Reverend Ben McClinton will officiate.
Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery.
