Charles F Malane

C. Francis Malane, 96, of Port Huron Township, died Tuesday, September 9, 2014.

He was born January 13, 1918 in Port Huron Township to the late John and Selina Blanche Malane. He married Lois Bourbonais in September 1937. She died in November 1981. He then married Pearl Zimmer in March 1984 and she died in September 2010.

Francis graduated from Marysville High School in 1935. In 1936 he began his career with Chrysler, retiring 39 years later after rising through the ranks to the executive level. After retiring, he worked as a consultant with Chrysler in Delaware, Columbia, Venezuela and Peru. Throughout his life, Francis was always involved in local politics, serving as township clerk, supervisor, justice of the peace and county treasurer.

He is survived by five children, David (Kathleen) Malane, Gerard Malane, Francine (Richard) VanHaaften, Debra Crimmins and Marsha Malane (Joseph Goodmen); 14 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; a sister, Delphine Streich; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Mark Malane, three brothers and one sister.

Visitation will be 2-5 & 7-9 p.m. Friday in the Marysville Funeral Home. A Rosary will be recited at 4 p.m.

Mr. Malane will lie in state from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 13, 2014 in St. Christopher Catholic Church. The Reverend Arthur Barnowski and the Reverend Joseph Gagnon will officiate.

Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Christopher Catholic Church or the St. Clair County Council on Aging.
