Helen Elizabeth Leslie, 86, of Burtchville Township, died Thursday, September 11, 2014 in the home she shared with her granddaughter, Martie Crawford.

She was born April 22, 1928 to the late Henry and Sarah Gamble. She married Robert Leslie Sr., who preceded her in death.

Helen loved life. She was an active member of V.F.W. May O’Brien Post #8465 and she enjoyed music & dancing, bowling, crocheting, gossiping, and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her daughters, Eileen (Butch) Ostrander and Bonita (Pete) Lind; two stepsons, Robert (Diane) Leslie Jr. and Fred (Renee) Leslie; 12 grandchildren; a sister, Barb (Ken) Joslin; and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews, including special nieces, Deb McAlpine and Kim Robson. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Martha Alexander; a granddaughter, Dawn Decker; a sister, Dora Trombley; and a special friend, Clarence Stone.

Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, September 27, 2014 in Lakeside Cemetery. A memorial service and celebration of life will follow at 2 p.m. on Saturday at V.F.W. May O’Brien Post #8465, Port Huron.
