C. Neal Lambert
Charles Neal Lambert, 92, of Smiths Creek, died Tuesday, October 14, 2014 in the Blue Water Hospice Home.
He was born May 27, 1922 in Smiths Creek to the late Charles F. and Lillian Lambert. He married Winifred Keogh on December 7, 1945 in Birmingham, MI. She died February 18, 2001.
Mr. Lambert was the manager of Blue Water Transit prior to his retirement and owned and operated an International Harvester dealership in Smiths Creek for many years. He was a graduate of Port Huron High School and Cleary College in Ypsilanti, MI. Neal flew P-51 Mustangs with the Army Air Corps during World War II. An active Mason over the years, he was a member and Past Master of Smiths Creek Lodge #491 F.&A.M., Port Huron High Twelve, St. Clair Chapter #12 Royal Arch Masons and Port Huron Commandery #7 Knights Templar. He was a member of Smiths Creek Bible Church, the Smiths Creek American Legion and enjoyed golfing, gardening and sailing.
He is survived by four children, Charles F. (Carol) Lambert, Stephen Lambert, Rebecca (Stephen) Armstrong and Winifred (Ralph) Crawford; three grandchildren, Michelle (Jonathan) Jespersen, Carrie Lambert and Suzanne (Matt) Lambert; three great grandchildren, Sarah, Charles and Emily Jespersen; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 2-4 & 7-9 pm Sunday in the Marysville Funeral Home. A Masonic Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 pm.
Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Monday, October 20, 2014 in Smiths Creek Bible Church, 249 Henry Street, Smiths Creek, MI 48074 with visitation beginning at 10:30 am. The Reverend Tim Parker will officiate. Military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Army. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron.
