Richard J Scouten
Richard John “Dick” Scouten, 79, of Marysville, died Friday, October 17, 2014.
He was born June 5, 1935 in Port Huron to the late Dean and Mary Scouten. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and was employed with U.S. Customs and Border Protection for 35½ years. He also served with the Allied Veterans Honor Guard for many years and was a member of American Legion Marysville Post 449 and Boiture 120 St. Clair County 40/8. He loved music and played in two bands, “Dick Scouten and the Dreamers” and “Dick Scouten and the Dixielanders.”
He is survived by his wife, Juanita; children, Steven (Cathy) Scouten, David (Lisa) Scouten, Deborah (Don) Northrop, Erika Warsalla and Gregory Scouten; four grandchildren; a brother, Joel Scouten; a sister, Brenda Alexander; and several nieces and nephews.
A service of remembrance and military honors will be held at 7:30 p.m. Friday, October 24, 2014 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 4 p.m. Military honors will be conducted by the Veterans Honor Guard Alliance.
