Alice June Bottrell, 91, of Port Huron died Thursday, November 6, 2014.
She was born June 21, 1923 in Hemlock, Michigan to the late Oscar and Alison Beythan. She married Emerson S. Bottrell June 18, 1949 in Hemlock. He preceded her in death on May 7, 2005.
Mrs. Bottrell was employed by Mary Maxim prior to her retirement. She was a Girl Scout Leader and volunteered at Port Huron Hospital as a Grey Lady. She was a long time member and Sunday School teacher at First United Methodist Church.
She is survived by her daughter, Mary Jett; grandson, Pvt. Nathan Mark Jett, USMC; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Lt. Mark Bottrell; and sisters, Helen Reed and Jane Berger.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, November 9, 2014 in First United Methodist Church with visiting beginning at 1:00 pm. The Reverend William Wright will officiate. Graveside services will be held at 10:00 am Monday in Lakeside Cemetery. The family plot is located at the front of the cemetery facing the lake and Gratiot Ave.
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church.
