Irma K. Martell, 93, of Fort Gratiot, died Sunday, December 7, 2014 in McLaren Port Huron Hospital.
She was born March 6, 1921 in Malmo, Sweden. She married Manley S. Martell on June 6, 1942 in Port Huron. He died on October 3, 2001.
Mrs. Martell was employed with U.S. Customs for 40 years, retiring in 1986. She was an active member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church and sang in their senior choir for many years. She enjoyed bowling, golfing, reading and going to concerts. She drove for the Red Cross with her husband Manley for many years and loved to travel.
She is survived by a daughter, Martha Christine Martell of Fort Gratiot; a sister, Carol Mae (Robert) Moravec; a nephew, Paul Yusem; and many friends, including her dear friend, Lois Langolf.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Thursday at Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, December 12, 2014 at Our Saviour Lutheran Church with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. The Reverend Donald Doerzbacher will officiate.
Inurnment will be in Our Saviour Lutheran Church Columbarium.
Memorial contributions may be made to Our Saviour Lutheran Church or The Salvation Army.
