Dorothy G. Smith, 92 of Smiths Creek, passed away on Saturday, December 20, 2014.
She was born on August 7, 1922 in Port Huron to the late Arthur and Eva Keeley, where she lived with six brothers and a sister. She married William (Delmar) Smith on August 26, 1944 and they were happily married for 66 years until his death in 2011.
Dot worked 30 years for Chrysler Corporation, retiring at age 53. She was very social and active, enjoyed music, dancing, skating, swimming, quilting, knitting, biking and especially spending time with and helping family and friends whenever she could.
She is survived by daughter, Linda (David) Twiss of Clyde; grandsons, David Evans of Port Huron, Robert (Tracey) Evans of Kimball; granddaughter, Cyndi Evans of Kimball, great-granddaughter, Morgan Pratt of Kimball; special nephew/son, Frederick (Maureen) Keeley of Cincinnati, OH; sister-in-law, Joyce Keeley of St. Clair; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by six brothers, a sister, and her husband, William (Delmar) Smith.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, December 23, 2014 in the Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service. Chaplain Anthony Ferriell of Heartland Hospice will officiate.
Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Heartland Hospice and the Alzheimer’s Association.
