Julia E Cooke
Julia Elizabeth “Dolly” Cooke, 88, of Fort Gratiot died Friday, December 26, 2014 at her daughter’s home in Avoca. She was born July 16, 1926 in Hale to the late Wesley B. & Julia Runyan. She married William Edward Cooke on August 23, 1947 in Grayling. He died May 22, 2003. Mrs. Cooke loved her grandchildren and having fun with them. She also enjoyed gardening. She is survived by her daughters, Virginia Willey of Avoca, Penny L. (Larry) Brennan of North Street, Julia Elizabeth Coats and Connie Cooke-Kinnee, both of Burtchville; ten grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; a brother, James (Janet) Runyan of Hale; a sister, Lola (William) Seaver of Swartz Creek; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy in 1954, her son-in-law, Patrick Willey in 1997, and siblings, David, Joe, Basil, Dale, Gene, Neva and Viola. Visiting will be from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Sunday, December 28, 2014 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home, Port Huron. Funeral services will be at 11 AM Monday in the funeral home. The Rev. Matt Harvey of North Street Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow in Springhill Cemetery, Greenwood Township. Mrs. Cooke’s grandchildren will serve as her pallbearers. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
