John "Tom" Loxton
John Thomas Loxton, 71, of Kimball Township, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 3, 2015.
He was born August 10, 1943 in Port Huron to the late John L. and Thelma Loxton and was a lifelong area resident. He married Darlene Straub on May 20, 1967 in Port Huron.
Mr. Loxton retired from the Port Huron Times Herald in 2003 after 39 years of service. After retirement he worked for several years at Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. He was a 1961 graduate of Marysville High School and served in the U.S. Air Force from 1961 to 1965. He was a long time devoted member and Elder of Trinity Lutheran Church. He was an avid outdoorsman and hunter.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Darlene; two daughters, Stephanie (John) McKenzie of Port Huron and Angela (John) Marshall of Sterling Heights; his sister, Marcia Worley of Kimball Township; mother-in-law, Beatrice Straub of Port Huron; brothers-in-law, Gary (Lezly) Straub of Port Huron and Fred (Alice) Straub of Spokane, Washington; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 7, 2015 in Trinity Lutheran Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Mark Madson will officiate.
Burial will be in Caswell Cemetery, Kimball Township.
Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church or the National Park Foundation.
