Thomas R Bell

Thomas Richard Bell, 107, of Port Huron, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 10, 2015.

He was born August 21, 1907 in North Hampton, Virginia to the late Richard and Roberta Bell. He married Vera Walker on November 10, 1936 in Toledo, Ohio. They were married for 63 years until she went home to be with the Lord on May 22, 2000.

Mr. Bell was employed with the St. Clair Inn for 22 years and was also part owner of a shooting range. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was the oldest lifetime member of Central Star Lodge #23 F. & A.M., as well as Senior Deacon and member for over 60 years at Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church. He loved the Lord and enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time outdoors.

He will be deeply missed by his niece, Adriane (Kerry) Taylor; niece, Saundra Marks and great nephew, Justin Marks; nephew, David (Mary) McElwee and their family; and many other friends and acquaintances.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 14, 2015 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Rev. Alex Crittenden of Pilgrim Missionary Baptist Church will officiate.

Burial will follow in Allied Veterans Cemetery. Military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Army.
