Claudette J Rounsoville
Claudette Jean Rounsoville, 78, of Port Huron, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, January 29, 2015.
She was born December 25, 1936 in Port Huron to the late Ellis H. and Patty Mae Cates.
Claudette was a Godly woman and a lifetime member of The Metropolitan Baptist Church of Port Huron, who loved reading her Bible along with 2-3 other books per week. She was an avid reader until she became ill. After her retirement, Claudette was the foster grandmother to many children. Claudette learned to play the piano at a very young age and loved directing and singing in her church choir. Claudette loved her children and grandchildren. They were her life.
She leaves to mourn her passing a daughter, Erica Rounsoville; two sons, Brian and Darin Rounsoville; five grandchildren, Aaron Fowler, Darien Rounsoville-Cates, Tatiana Cates, Carl Cates and Jayden Rounsoville; three great grandchildren, Raelynn, Nevaeh and Skyee; her siblings, Harold Cates, Janice (John) Johnson, James (Jeanette) Cates, Meredith Cates, Judith Diane Bookrum, Robert Cates, Jerilyn Cates, Marlon Cates (Carol), and Jeffrey (Latina) Cates; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Rounsoville.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 in Metropolitan Baptist Church with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. The Reverend Anthony King will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Carl Cates, Brian Rounsoville, Jeffrey Cates Jr., Jalen Cates, John Johnson Jr., Dayle Cates and Darin Rounsoville. Honorary Pallbearers will be Marlon Cates, Jeffrey Cates, John Johnson Sr. and Willis Moncrief.
