Mildred Molissa Ramsey, 102, of Fort Gratiot, died Friday, March 20, 2015.

She was born November 4, 1912 in Imlay City to the late Thomas and Pearl Boomer. She married Bert Haggadone on November 9, 1929 in Imlay City. He preceded her in death in July, 1960. She then married Maurice Ramsey in Indiana and he also preceded her in death in February, 1978.

Mildred was employed by Port Huron Paper Company, Sperry’s Department Store, and Port Huron Hospital before her retirement. She was a long time member of First Presbyterian Church where she was a Deacon and belonged to the Sarah Circle. She was also active with the Council on Aging and the Salvation Army Golden Agers. Mildred enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and knitting. Later in life, she enjoyed books on tape from the St. Clair County Library STAR program. More than anything, she loved her grandchildren, great grandchildren, and her cat, Duffy.

She is survived by her daughter, Donna J. Whitford of Fort Gratiot; two grandchildren, David (Stephanie) Whitford of Grand Rapids and Wendy (Lynn) Esterline of Clyde; and two great grandchildren, Christopher Balogh of Grand Rapids and Brady Esterline of Clyde.

A memorial service will be held at 4:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 28, 2015 in First Presbyterian Church, Port Huron with visitation beginning at 4:00 p.m. Reverend Jason Pittman will officiate. Interment will be in Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville.

Memorials may be made to First Presbyterian Church, the St. Clair County Library, or the Blue Water Area Humane Society.
