Marilyn Joyce Ellis, 86, of Ruby, passed away peacefully in her home on Saturday, May 23, 2015.
She was born June 1, 1928 in Blaine, MI to the late Wilbert and Tressa Wellman. She married Robert N. Ellis on April 23, 1948 in Ruby, Michigan. He preceded her in death on November 27, 2006.
Marilyn was a 1945 graduate of Yale High School. She was employed at St. Clair Metal, retiring in 1993.
First and foremost, she was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
She was a devoted member of the Ruby United Methodist Church, was a member of the Ruby Lioness Club and O.E.S. Mt. Vernon Chapter, Smiths Creek. She loved bowling, reading, had a great sense of humor and was an avid Detroit Tigers fan.
She is survived by her children, Deborah (Charles) Blythe of Mesa, AZ, Dennis Ellis of Ruby, David (Pamela) Ellis of Goodells, Daniel (Kyle) Ellis of Charleston, SC, and Dawn (Wayne) Rivard of Harrison Township; 9 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; 3 step-great- grandchildren; 5 step great-grandchildren; her sisters-in-law, Marie (Elmer) Campbell, Phyllis Ellis, Juanita Ellis; lifelong friend and maid of honor, Doris Richards; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Francis “Lloyd” Wellman, and baby brother, Gerald Bruce Wellman.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, May 28, 2015 in the Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The Reverend Donald L. Wojewski of Ruby United Methodist Church will officiate.
Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Wednesday and 10-11 a.m. Thursday in the Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Burial will be in the Ruby Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Ruby United Methodist Church.
