Carol Joan Thick, age 68, of Port Huron Township, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, June 14, 2015.
She was born March 8, 1947 in Port Huron to the late Albert and Florence Hurd. She married Dennis L. “Short” Thick Sr. on December 24, 1969 in Ohio.
Mrs. Thick was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She enjoyed knitting, crossword puzzles, bingo, playing cards, watching sports and spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her husband of 45 years, Dennis; four children, Nancy Desero (fiancée Chad), Dennis (Kelli) Thick, Ruth Thick, Daniel (Lisa) Thick; seven grandchildren, Nichole, Hailey, Luke, Andrea, Andrew, Alyssa, and Jordan; her brother, Bruce (Barb) Hurd; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ronald (Cathy) Thick and Brian (Renee’) Thick; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kristina; and her sister, Florence Hurd Fine.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. on Tuesday in the Marysville Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 17, 2015 in the Marysville Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Mark Wargo will officiate.
Memorials may be made to Alzheimer’s or American Cancer Society.
