Ellen J Lawson

Ellen Jane Lawson, 86, of Marysville, died Sunday, July 12, 2015.

She was born August 28, 1928 in St. Clair to the late Navarre and Eugenia Kelly. She married Donald Lawson on February 4, 1950 in Marysville.

Mrs. Lawson was a member of the St. Stephens High School Class of 1946. She was a lifetime member of the Mercy Hospital Auxiliary, where she worked in the gift shop and served on the Auxiliary Board, and a member of the Women of the Moose Chapter #99. She enjoyed shopping and anything Irish.

Ellen is survived by her husband of 65 years, Donald. She had two cousins who were like sisters to her; she is survived by Jeannine Frye and her children Lesley Frye and Jason Frye (Alyssa Kozak) and their daughter Brooklyn; and was preceded in death by Diane Burton and is survived by her children, Christopher Burton and Michelle (Steve) Prothero and their sons, Austin & Evan. She is also survived by cousins John L. Kelly, Gail (Marvin) Westrick and Kay (Gene) L’Heureux; sister-in-law, Gloria Phillips; several nieces and nephews, Cathy Smart, Donald (Lori) Smart, Steve (Nancy) Phillips, William (Chris) Phillips, John (Kim) Phillips, Judy (David) Cash, Carol (Jeff Offenbacher) Phillips and Jeff Phillips; and many great nieces and great nephews.

Mrs. Lawson will lie in state from 10 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. on Friday, July 17, 2015 in St. Christopher Catholic Church. The Reverend James Arwady will officiate.

The Rite of Committal will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Port Huron.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Christopher Catholic Church, the Mercy Hospital Auxiliary or Marwood Nursing and Rehab.
