Darryl Dugas
Darryl S. Dugas, 67, of Port Huron Township, passed away surrounded by his family on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at the Blue Water Hospice Home after a prolonged illness.
He was born in October 18, 1947 in Waterville, Maine to the late Charles S. and Dorothy Dugas and moved with his family to Michigan while young. He married Marsha Belles in August 26, 1967 in Port Huron.
Darryl was a popular local professional salesman and owned and operated the Computer Emporium for three years. He was a proud member of the U.S. Navy (1967-71), U.S. Air National Guard (1980-83) and U.S. Air Force (1993-2013). While serving, he was awarded the Michigan Air National Guard Non-Commissioned Officer of the Year award for the year 2000.
Darryl also served his community as an active member and minister in the Community of Christ Church. He was a member of the Yale School Board and a longtime member of the St. Clair County Intermediate School District Board, serving a term as Vice President of the Board. After retirement, he continued to serve his community as part of the Port Huron Township Tax Review Board.
He was a loving and caring husband, father and grandfather and is survived by his wife, Marsha Dugas; children, Michael (Laura) Dugas, Marney (Daniel) Williams and Matthew (Jill) Dugas; eight grandchildren; and a sister, Lynne Puglise.
Visitation will be 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Monday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, August 18, 2015 in Wadhams Grove Community of Christ Church with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Air Force.
Memorial contributions may be made to the International Mesothelioma Program (impmeso.org), Blue Water Hospice or Wadhams Grove Community of Christ Church.
