Charles Kaercher

Charles Lawrence Kaercher, 88, of Port Huron, died Thursday, August 20, 2015.

He was born September 21, 1926 in Sandusky to the late John and Muriel Kaercher.

Mr. Kaercher was a lift truck operator with Clark Equipment prior to retirement. He served in the U.S. Army and was past commander of DAV Chapter 12. He trained horses and was involved with harness racing for many years. He enjoyed playing the lottery and bingo.

He is survived by a daughter, Marilyn (Alvin) Willis; four grandchildren, Shellie (Steve) Baker, Dawn Baldock, Jason Willis and his fiancée, Leila, and Hollie (Roby) Tanner; nine great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren, three sisters, Joyce Martin, Phyllis (Marcel) Ryder and Patricia (Arthur) Collins; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his former wives, Velma and Mary Kaercher; a sister, Vera Ross; and five brothers, John Lewis, Calvin E. Kaercher, Vernon Ellery Kaercher, Ivan Dean Kaercher and Arden L. Kaercher.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 23, 2015 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at noon. The Rev. Randy Bennett of Blue Water Free Methodist Church will officiate.
