Chester Lewandowski

March 9th, 1925 to September 16th, 2015

Chester L. “Chet” Lewandowski, 90, of Fort Gratiot Township, died Wednesday, September 16, 2015.

He was born March 9, 1925 in Port Huron to the late Carl and Estella Lewandowski. He married Mildred “Millie” Scahill on March 26, 1943 in Port Huron.

Mr. Lewandowski served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He was employed with Mullins Roofing for most of his career, but after retiring he continued to help people with their roofing needs until he was 83 years old. He loved the outdoors including fishing and hunting. He attended Colonial Woods Missionary Church for 30 years.

He is survived by his wife, Millie; daughter-in-law, Sharyl Lewandowski; grandchildren, Joshua (Jennifer) Lewandowski and Nicholas Lewandowski; great grandchildren, Natalie and Tyler Lewandowski; brother, Richard (Frances) Lewandowski; two sisters, Annie (Harley) Thomas and Donna Beattie; and several nieces and nephews including Chris Newingham, Wendy (Keith) Zick and Peggy (Terry) Morrison. He was preceded in death by his son, Dean in 2012 and four brothers.

Visitation will be from 4-7 pm Friday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held 3:00 pm Saturday, September 19, 2015 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior. Reverend Stan Leichty will officiate. Military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Navy.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Grace Hospice.
