Sally R Dove

Sally Rae Dove, 72, of Goodells, passed away peacefully at home with family at her side on Wednesday, September 23, 2015.

She was born August 10, 1943 in Port Huron to the late Robert and Lucille Colgan.

Sally was a direct care giver with Innovative Housing and also farmed and operated a special needs foster care home for many years. She graduated from Memphis High School in 1961. She loved the Lord, was devoted to her children and grandchildren and had a special concern that they all knew Jesus Christ as their personal savior. She enjoyed spending time with her animals on the farm, had a lovely flower garden, enjoyed deer hunting and teaching her family to appreciate nature.

She is survived by three children, Bonnie (George) Lepak, Harvey “Chip” (Jami) Dove and Cindy (Scott) VanDeVelde, and their father, Harvey Dove; seven grandchildren, Ian and Dean Lepak, Alexis, Amarah and Colgan Dove, and Shauna and Skyler VanDeVelde; a brother, Ford (Chris) Colgan; several nieces and nephews; and special friend, Judy Mars. She was preceded in death by four brothers, Robert, Tom, Tim and David Colgan.

Visitation will be 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Sunday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 28, 2015 in Community Baptist Church, 1620 Wadhams Road, with visitation beginning at 10 a.m. The Rev. James Jones will officiate.

Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Skyler VanDeVelde, Shauna VanDeVelde, Ian Lepak, Dean Lepak, Harvey Dove, Frank Zeros, John Dondineau, Jamie Dondineau and Harold Waite. Honorary pallbearers will be Alexis Dove, Amarah Dove, and Colgan Dove.

Memorial contributions may be made to Community Baptist Church or Lambs United Methodist Church.
