Michael Stanley Cope, 34, of Kenockee Township, died Sunday, December 6, 2015 as a result of a hit and run accident.
He was born March 14, 1981 in Port Huron to Christine and the late Stanley “Bud” Cope, Jr.
Michael was a 2000 graduate of Yale High School and was employed with Shawmut Corporation for the past 11 years. He enjoyed being outdoors, bonfires and doing yard work. He enjoyed singing loudly and making people laugh, but what he loved most was his son, Little Michael.
He is survived by his son, Michael Carter Cope; his mother, Christine Cope; his sister, Kady Cope; grandfather, Gerald Albert Sr.; two nephews, Tyler and Lohgan Gainer; aunts and uncles, Dawn Robbins, Teri Schulte, Gerald Albert Jr. and Rod Cope; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by a sister, Kelly Cope; grandparents, Shirley Albert and Dorothy and Stanley Cope Sr.; and a nephew, Carter Gainer.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-9 p.m. Friday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, December 12, 2015 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The Rev. Max Amstutz will officiate.
Burial will be in Ruby Cemetery, Clyde Township.
Memorials may be made to Michael’s son’s education in care of Christine Cope.
