Elizabeth A Sweet
Elizabeth A. “Liz” Sweet, 63, of Port Huron, died Thursday, December 10, 2015 after a brave battle with ALS.
She was born April 8, 1952 in Port Huron to the late George and Martha McDougal. She married G.L. “Jerry” Sweet in July, 1979 in Port Huron.
Elizabeth and Jerry became owners of her father’s construction company, Kahmann Construction, and operated it for many years. She was formerly employed with Sears, Earl Smith Distributing and Dow Chemical. Liz was active with Great Dane Rescue and enjoyed golfing, skiing, boating, planning and going on vacations, and winning at casinos. Most important to Liz was time with her family.
She is survived by her husband of 36 years, Jerry; her K-9 kid, Cooper; five sisters, Marcia McDougal (Thom Ryan), Pat (Curtis) Lawrence, Judy (Butch) Sly, Mary McDougal and Sheila (John) Falk; two brothers, Mike (Pam) McDougal and Brian (Barb) McDougal; her mother-in-law, Loretta Sweet; two brothers-in-law, Tracey (Yvonne) Sweet and John “Randy” (Mary) Sweet; and many very special nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and her father-in-law, Junior Sweet.
Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 15, 2015 in Lakeport Wesleyan Church. The Rev. Drew Mills will officiate.
Memorial contributions may be made to the ALS Association or Great Dane Rescue.
