Robert N Ward
Robert N. Ward, 83 of Marysville, died Saturday, January 2, 2016 after a long illness.
He was born April 10, 1932 in Croswell to the late Ernest and Martha Ward. He married June T. Osentoski on September 7, 1957 in Smiths Creek.
Mr. Ward was employed with Dalzen Manufacturing Company in St. Clair for 39 ½ years prior to his retirement in 1991. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was an avid baseball and football fan who never missed a Marysville Viking football game in 50 years. He was a member of the Port Huron Motorcycle Club, enjoyed raising different breeds of dogs, coin collecting and hunting. He especially enjoyed his two granddaughters who were his pride and joy.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 58 years, June; daughter, Renae (Thomas) Gerrits; two granddaughters, Angela and Amber Gerrits; two brothers, Alvin (Beverly) Ward and Lyle (Nancy) Ward; three sisters, Betty Bingle, Donna Krohn and Ruth Ann Conrad; sister-in-law, Delma Ward; brother-in-law, Franklin Farr; many nieces and nephews; and his faithful Chihuahua “Chi Chi” who stayed by him every day. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Debra Ann Ward; four brothers, Louis (Mary Ann), Howard (Betty), Warren and Larry (Mary); and three sisters, Lois, Shirley and Patricia.
Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday in the Marysville Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, January 9, 2016 in the Marysville Funeral Home. The Reverend Max Amstutz will officiate.
Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery. Military honors will be provided by the U.S. Army and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
Memorials may be made to the Marysville Fire Department.
