Fay E. Johnson, 80, of North Street, died Tuesday, January 19, 2016.
She was born April 5, 1935 in Port Huron to the late Walter and Irene Burns. She married the love of her life, Leslie E. Johnson, on March 19, 1954 in Our Saviour Lutheran Church, Port Huron and they shared 62 wonderful years together.
Mrs. Johnson was a 1953 graduate of Port Huron High School. She was employed with Women’s Benefit Association until she dedicated her life to rising her family. She was a lifelong member of Our Saviour Lutheran Church where she volunteered in the kitchen and participated in the craft club. She was an avid bowler and enjoyed vacationing in Florida and at their second home in northern Michigan. The joy of her life was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mrs. Johnson is survived by her husband, Leslie; children, Lori K. Johnson-Schrieber, Steven L. (Kathy) Johnson, Lynette S. (Timothy) Hoffman and Michele McDonald; son-in-law, David “Sam” Schrieber; grandchildren, Brittany, Kayla, Travis, Tyler, Kaitlin, Christen, Michael, Sara, Ashley, Ashton, Brian, Hannah and Andrea; great grandchildren, Richard, Keegan, Dylan, Sophia, Clayton, Gideon, Timothy, Leila, and one more expected in July; sisters, Diane Doan and Sharon (Orville) Fangmeyer; and sister-in-law, Grace Perry. She was preceded in death by her parents; and sisters, Velma Burns and Joyce McDonald.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Thursday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am Friday, January 22, 2016 in Our Saviour Lutheran Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 am. Reverend Donald Doerzbacher will officiate.
Burial will follow in Kinney Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Hoffman, Tyler Johnson, Travis Schrieber, Donald Doerzbacher, Edward Warnock and Brian Doan.
Memorials may be made to Our Saviour Lutheran Church.
