BettyJo Ann Grougan
BettyJo A. Grougan, 68, of Port Huron Township, went to be with our Lord on Wednesday, January 20, 2016 after a year-long battle with cancer with her family by her side.
She was born April 19, 1947 in Algonac to the late Donald and Joan Closs.
BettyJo attended St. Clair High School and worked at the Lynwood Bar for about 14 years as cook and bartender. She was an avid bingo player and loved garage sales and doing puzzles. She was very close with and loved all her family and especially enjoyed visits from her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by four daughters, Cricket (Roger) Hartman, Dawn (Roger) Carriveau, Nicki (Terry) Carnahan and Tonia (Shawn) Rock, and a special 5th daughter, Jayne Gardner; 14 grandchildren, including A.J., Dametrios and Daniel, who were like her children; 22 great grandchildren; seven siblings, Donna Closs, Susan (Alan) Piper, Raymond (Donna) Closs, Bill (Wayne) Closs, Donald (Brandi) Closs, Janette (Sam) Kimmel and Charles (Shelia) Closs; four very close friends, Dolly McGuffin, Judy Derrick, Joyce Somma and Nick Selaty; a special aunt, Pat; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by an aunt, Francis; a niece, Jodi; and three cousins, Sharon, Ron and Connie.
Funeral services will be held at noon Friday, January 22, 2016 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. Elder Gary Wesch will officiate.
Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery, Port Huron Township. Pallbearers will be Brian Rock, Ryan Loane, Steven Kowalski, Michael Hartman, Gary Lonsby and Billy Stephens. Honorary pallbearers will be Dametrios Kelley and Ken Piper.
