Brian E Harris
Brian Emerson Harris, 57, of Fort Gratiot Township, died unexpectedly, Wednesday, January 20, 2016.
He was born March 1, 1958 in Port Huron to Alice and the late Herbert Harris.
Mr. Harris was a 1976 graduate of Port Huron Central High School where he played the saxophone in the band and attended St. Clair County Community College. He was employed for many years with Prestolite Wire Company and also Acheson Colloid Co. as a laboratory technician. He loved to restore old cars and in 1986 won a cruise night award for his car that year. He enjoyed being outdoors, cutting wood and watching the wildlife in his backyard. He also enjoyed helping out and spending time with his friends and family.
He is survived by his mother, Alice Harris; sister, Carolyn (Patrick) Hurd; nephews, Bryce and Brendon Hurd; aunt, Mildred McElroy; uncle, Vern (Betty) Pickard; and several cousins and many close friends.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 7-9 pm Monday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Tuesday, January 26, 2016 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. Reverend Phil Whetstone will officiate. Burial will follow in Caswell Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Nate Curtis, Donald Falk, Mike Kimball, Scott Land, Steve McCleary, Eric McCormick, Bill Pickard and Darrin Sherman. Honorary pallbearers will be Patrick Hurd, Bryce Hurd, Brendon Hurd, James Partridge, James McElroy and Del Sherman.
Memorials may be made to the Michigan Heart Association or The Arthritis Foundation.
