Ronald R. Davis, 71, of Marysville, died unexpectedly on Wednesday, January 27, 2016.

He was born March 17, 1944 in Port Huron to the late Roy and Margarette Davis. He married Jeannie (VanKeuren) Kapus on February 8, 1986 in Port Huron.

Ron worked in the family-owned house moving business for many years. He then worked for Raymond Excavating for 30-some years, retiring in 1998. He is a member of Laborers Local 1075. He served in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1967, mainly in Germany. Ron is a member of Marysville American Legion Post 449 and Community of Christ - Wadhams Grove Branch.

He loved to travel. Ron and Jeannie had traveled to 49 states and two countries, all by car, with his favorite being Florida. He also loved golf - playing it, going to PGA Tour tournaments, and watching it on TV. He enjoyed putting together puzzles and had a knack for helping people, especially with home projects. He loved being with family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Jeannie; a son, Christian R. (Amy) Davis of Hillsboro, Oregon; a step-daughter, Tracey A. (Dan Pingitore) Sharpe of Marysville; a step-son, Michael (Maria Teresa) Kapus Jr. of Dumfries, Virginia; four granddaughters; two great granddaughters; two “special” grandsons; four sisters, Diana Frazer, Joanne (Paul) Hoag, Marilyn (Jack) Jones and Carolyn Davis; a brother, Larry Davis; two sisters-in-law, Janice Davis and Beverly D’Arcy; three brothers-in-law, Don Johnson, Leland Sheldon and Lynn Harvey; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. He was preceded in death by a twin sister, Bonita Harvey; an infant brother, Roy Davis Jr.; a brother, Robert Dale Davis; two sisters, Shirley Johnson and Maryellen Sheldon; and a sister-in-law, Darlynn Davis.

Visitation will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Saturday in the Marysville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Sunday, January 31, 2016 in Community of Christ - Wadhams Grove Branch. Elders Ed Smerer, David Giles and Howard Burleigh will officiate. Military honors will be conducted by the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.

Burial will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly.
